TONY VINCENT WORLD

Masterpiece - The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber

At the end of 2001 Tony Vincent was honoured with an invitation from Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber to take part in a ground breaking project that would introduce musical theatre to the people of China.  Taking place at the prestigious Great Hall Of The People, Beijing, Tony was to perform in two concerts alongside stars such as Elaine Paige and recording sensation Kris Phillips with the support of an international ensemble and sixty piece orchestra.  He was one of only two western performers to have received such an invitation.  The cast spent three weeks rehearsing in Australia and it was whilst they were relocating to China for the performances that New York City endured the fateful incident that will always be remembered as 9/11.  Despite the tragedy that had rocked the very core of his beloved home, Tony remained focused on giving of his best, and opened the concert with a blinding performance of "Jesus Christ Superstar".  He also sung the Evita classic, "The Money Kept Rolling In" and joined Elaine Paige, Kris Phillips, Sandy Lam and the entire ensemble for a heartfelt finale of "No Matter What" and "Friends For Life - Amigos Para Siempre" which brought about raptuous applause and a standing ovation.

This live performance, including special bonus footage of a visit by the cast to The Great Wall Of China, backstage preparation and cast interviews comes to you on the "Masterpiece - The Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber" DVD.
