NEW YEAR GREETINGS & THANKS!

As well as being Tony Vincent World's 2nd Birthday, January 1st (of course), marks the beginning of a new year.  With the blink of an eye it seems that we have journeyed through 365 days and found ourselves back at the beginning again, where new opportunities and experiences await us once more!  This day is often spent reflecting on our own personal journey the year past, -- what was good, what was bad, what went wrong, what went right, what could have been done differently, and what we've learned from those experiences (and the experiences of others) as we move on to live and love through another year.

Tony Vincent World encountered much change during 2007, both good and bad.  On a positive note, outreach was huge, with the successful launch of the Tony Vincent World Fan Site Forum, Tony Vincent World on Facebook, and the Tony Vincent Street Team.   Also, TVW.com and gotMiG? joined forces for an exciting promotion opportunity (and there is still more to come with that).  You will also have noticed that the builders have been in, and the TVW website, TVW on MySpace page and Fan Site Forum received a 'makeover', with a groovy new logo and layout change in September / October which was inspired by Tony himself.  On a negative note, the dynamics of Tony Vincent World changed drastically late-2007, and two became one, when Em (TVW co-administrator) made the decision to resign. 

And so, having learned from the experiences and challenges of the past year (but still learning Photoshop!) I move forward into 2008, as the solo administrator of Tony Vincent World.  Keeping the website and it's satelite groups continually updated on a daily basis is a huge amount of work, and I must apologise for my recent 'snail's pace' with getting going on such projects as TVW on YouTube.  It's coming.  I promise!  Currently there is no plan for the co-administrator position to be filled, but that doesn't mean that it won't happen in the future, so if you are interested and willing to commit yourself to TVW in a major way, then please make yourself known to me.  A basic knowlege of HTML is essential.

Out with the old, and in with the new!

Just stopping by your inbox to bring you a pre-Christmas Tony Vincent World update!  It's been a while since I've connected with you all!  I hope this newsletter finds you all safe and well as we prepare for what is coming in just THREE weeks now!  Yup!, as I type this I am sure Santa is loading up his sleigh with a Fisher Price Guitar for us all!  Christmas (and Fisher Price) isn't just about the under 12's ya know? ;-)  - I'm excited!

Firstly, another piece of exciting news is that tonyvincentworld.com, and it's Fan Site Forum and it's Myspace page have undergone ANOTHER layout change.  We've almost gone full circle with a return to the simple, clean look of 'black 'n' white' (which is how tonyvincentworld.com started off in January 2006).  Not only is there a new colour scheme, but also a new logo!  A logo gives meaning, identity and association to a website, without the need for a long written explanation of aims and goals - it epitomises and symbolises all of what a site is about, - it's 'vision', it's 'vibe', simply and effectively, and therefore is a vital component.  The Triquetra has been the site logo since we started out almost two years ago, but site dynamics have changed considerably since then, and 'we' is now 'I', which means that the Triquetra logo is no longer fitting with how the site will move forward in 2008.   Sooooo, it's out with the old, and in with the new! ....

Designed and penned by Tony Vincent, himself, this new simple logo, sums up the union between fan and artist perfectly, - with it's continuous circle, representing the everlasting union between a faithful and furvent network of Global fans who join together, and work for the purpose of achieving one goal - that of supporting and promoting the one artist they believe in and who's name is positioned at the centre of the 'world'.  Thank you Tony, for putting your thoughts into the physical action of creating a logo that demonstrates how real and strong the union is between you, (the artist), and us, (your fans).

Beta Testers needed!

With the site consisting of 150 pages now, updating each of them individually has been a massive undertaking and is the reason why I've missed Autumn and suddenly found myself in the season of Winter!  Sometimes I've found myself working on the site until late in the night (or early in the morning) so I anticipate there being some font issues, broken links, spelling errors and layout problems out on those pages still, so i'm looking for a band of willing volunteers to act as beta testers - taking a section of the site to look at it (with different browsers), so that any issues can be identified and fed back to me for fixing.  If you have some free time inbetween Christmas shopping, gift wrapping and tree trimming, and are able to help out, then please reply to this email and i'll allocate a section of the site to you for testing and tell you specifically what to look for.  Of course, my grateful thanks will come to you aswell!  Thank you to those forum members who have already offered their help.  I will be intouch with you ASAP.

New (but old).

Whilst updating the site layout I've added in some extra bits from the TVW archives.  Check out Musical Moments Exclusives and Up In The Air With Tony Vincent (Delta Radio) for new audio additions.  Also, coming soon, will be more exclusive images from the very talented photographer Mr Roy Tan, images from the recent Joe's Pub gig, and towards the end of this week some new (but old) video footage from SAS gigs past!  Stay tuned!

Please keep on promoting the A Better Way EP!  Your efforts thus far have been AMAZING!  It has been SO great to hear from those of you who have been seeking airplay on internet radio stations, creating your own promo t-shirts, spreading banners and flyers around, and the BEST thing to hear, of course, is how you've made new fans out of your friends, and that you are buying them Tony's WHOLE music catalogue for Christmas!  Keep up the amazing effort everyone!  We MUST keep on pluggin' the 'TV' EP, so, join the Tony Vincent Street Team and check out the 14 tips 'n' bits listed there to guide your promotional efforts!  Got your own ideas for taking Tony to the top? ..then reply to this email or contribute to the messageboard thread at the foot of the Street Team page.  We can make a difference!  We So can!     

Tony Vincent on Facebook

Are there any Facebook users out there?  If so, then there are a number of ways that you can support and promote Tony via this growing social networking site!   If you're not a Facebook user then sign up here because today the new Tony Vincent on Facebook page goes LIVE and you are all invited over there!  This is an OFFICIAL Tony Vincent page which will be another portal for Tony to interact through, so 'become a fan' and drop him a comment there! 

iLike Tony, do you?

Facebook are really gearing towards helping artists get their music out there by offering some groovy ways for them to connect with fans.  Affiliation with sites such as iLike and garageband.com now give artists / bands the option to upload their music for the purpose of promotion / sales, aswell as offering the facility to send out bulletins / blogs, and even VIDEO blogs, not only to their own iLike / Facebook fans, but also across ten different networks!  As well as becoming a fan on his Facebook page, check out Tony on iLike and add his music samples to your own Facebook profile (by adding the iLike application).  This will then expose his music to your friends, thus promoting him. 

Another way to spread Tony's music is to download the iLike slidebar - this is a plugin for iTunes and Windows Media Player that helps people share their music listening tastes with friends, because it adds the iTunes and Windows Media recent-plays and playlists to your profile.  If enough fans use the iLike slidebar, Tony's music will automatically work it's way into the iLike music recommendation system and charts

Amazing news Tony fans!!!

'Tony Vincent World' and 'got MiG?' have teamed up!

Separately, we each have the desire to support and promote our favorite Dreamers! Together, we will cross promote and spread the word on them to a broader and more diverse audience!

Keep your ears and eyes open because over the next year especially, you will see massive cross promotion!  Along with a fantastic event that is in the works for them both for next year, and will include all Tony and MiG fans!!!

They both have displayed amazing courage in their quest to get their music out to the world.  Both the Tony Vincent World Team and the got MiG? Team are dedicated to seeing our 2 favorite Galileos....Dreamers...artists...reach that place of personal fullfillment.  And the best part?  In the process they leave us with their beautiful music!!!  Please, join us in the effort to support them!  Together, all of us fans, can make a huge difference!

YES, kids, ....HE SHALL RETURN!  Tony Vincent has confirmed that he will be returning to UK soil for a performance with the SAS band at their Christmas gigs this coming December!  Tony will perform on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th December 2006, at the National Shooting Centre, Bisley.  For further information and ticket purchases please check out: http://www.sasband.com/gigs.html. 

Many long time fans of Tony will know that he has been a regular guest artist at SAS band gigs over recent years, having given amazing performances with them in 2004, at the Shepherds Bush Empire, London, and again at a series of gigs during the Christmas period of 2005.  The SAS band have become an important link betwen Tony and his European fans since he left London, nearly three years ago, and they love having him perform with them, as do the fans, who journey in some cases by AIR for a rare opportunity to see him perform in these parts.  With the release of his new music imminent, and the loyal support of an ever growing fan base, tickets for both these gigs will sell fast, so don't delay, apply for yours today!
