Tony Vincent, an actor, singer, songwriter was born in New Mexico on July 25, 1973. He took the stage name Tony Vincent when he was preparing to release his first EP in 1993.
Vincent's professional singing career began while attending university in Nashville, Tennessee. Here he recorded his first single, Love Falling Down; originally released only to his hometown radio station, KLYT in Albuquerque. When the song proved so popular that it went to number one on that station, a campaign was organized to release the single nationally. The single was released in May 1993 and appeared for one week on the nationwide Christian radio charts in July 1993. It was the first independently released single ever to do so.
After signing a record contract with Star Song Records, Vincent spent three more years performing Christian music in Nashville, and in 1997, he took a chance and moved to New York where he landed a role in the American touring production of RENT. Later, Vincent returned to Broadway and was again cast in RENT, appearing in the roles of Roger and Mark. Taking another chance, he then went on and auditioned for, and got the role of Simon Zealots in the 2000 video of Jesus Christ Supertar filmed at Pinewood Studios, London. This new and fresh production revived the show on Broadway where in a last minute change Vincent was moved up to the lead role of Judas.
Impressed with Vincent's performance, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber picked him to travel to Beijing and Shanghai to introduce the Andrew Lloyd Webber catalogue to the people of China in 2001. While travelling back through London, Vincent won the lead role of Galileo Figaro in Queen's musical, We Will Rock You. He performed in that role for 18 months, from May 2002 until November 2003. During that time he also performed Bohemian Rhapsody on stage with Queen in front of Queen Elizabeth II in June 2002 at "Party at the Palace", an occasion celebrating the monarch's 50th year on the throne.
When We Will Rock You was launched in Las Vegas, Vincent was persuaded to again star in it. Surrounded by fans from around the world, he had his last performance with this show on 24th July, 2005. He has now returned to his beloved New York City to re-establish his long awaited solo career.
